Iguana Sniper Challenge

Hollywood Pistol and Rifle Range

2 Day Event!
Friday and Saturday
December 4th & 5th, 2026

2989 Stirling Rd
Ft.Lauderdale, FL 33312

This is the Iguana Sniper Challenge, an airgun competition in South Florida with alot of iguana fun mixed in. Sponsored by Airguns of Arizona.

2026 is going to be an epic year for the Iguana Sniper Challenge.  We have upgraded the EFT event to a two day Grand Prix competition, meaning shooters can earn points toward the Extreme Field Target (EFT) national title and cash prize.

The Iguana competition has also upgraded to a two day event.  We will shoot the traditional Iguana Sniper Challenge(ISC) targets on Friday.  This will allow extra time for scoring so the event runs smoothly.  In 2026, we have a new event, the Iguana Sniper Speed Challenge, held after lunch on Saturday.  Read below for details.

Also in 2026, we welcome supervised youth shooters as young as 10 years of age!  Waivers apply. Youth prizes are still being determined, contact Jessica if interested in having your lil'sniper shoot!

In addition to a new event, Iguana Solutions, with the help of Airguns of Arizona, is super excited to introduce a Sniper Challenge Coin that will be offered as a prize for a certain "eye-catching side quest".  Only 50 coins will be printed, they are not for sale, they are earned by shooting iguana targets in the eye.  The coin is solid metal with enamel and reads "Iguana Opthalmological Society"; quality made by Ghostpatch.

This facility,  Hollywood Pistol and Rifle Range, features rooms with A/C, restrooms, fans at every shooting lane, water fountains, and covered outdoor shooting.

EYE PROTECTION REQUIRED: you must bring your own shooting glasses and wear them at all times on the range. No hearing protection required, the range is reserved both days for us.  All shooters must sign shooting Waiver.

This will be a 2 day event, each day has EFT in the morning, Iguana Targets in the afternoon.

Extreme Field Target : (8:30am to 11:30am)  BOTH DAYS

What is EFT?

EFT is where shooters hit targets at different distances between 15 and 100 yards.   Extreme Field Targets are reactive metal targets that fall when shot in the "Kill Zone", think of the carnival game where you throw a ball to make someone fall in a dunk tank of water.

Shooter needs a PCP air rifle shooting at 100 ft/lbs or less with Pellets, not slugs.  Some break barrels may work, contact Jessica (754-244-1416) if you are unsure. Slugs are not allowed in EFT.

Coarse of Fire:

20 steel targets to be shot twice each for a total of 40 shots.

Rules for Extreme Field Target type matches are found at ExtremeFieldTarget.com

Grand Prix rules apply for this match.

EYE PROTECTION REQUIRED

Iguana  Match (12:30 to 5pm)  BOTH DAYS

Targets are 15-50yds in both iguana matches, mostly at 15yd,25yd, and 50 yd specifically.

Day 1: Traditional Iguana Sniper Challenge, with full color iguana targets placed at 15, 25, and 50yds only.

Airguns only

You will be shooting in a Practical iguana hunt match. So no bench shooting, but standing supported or sitting, prone, kneeling will be allowed.

Prone is only allowed at 50yds, range rule not mine.
You CAN use a stool to sit.  You can stand and use sticks  but they must be setup after the call to fire, so you lose valuable seconds during setup.   You can already be sitting(for safety reasons), and you can have sticks and gun in hand.

Targets will be well thought out paper iguana targets with obstacles in the way that can exclude your shot. Some targets will be posted on instagram.

Iguana match is out to 50 yards.

Iguanas will be shot in a speed-shoot fashion. For example you may have 5 iguanas, 10 shots, in 30 seconds. Practice shooting at 20, 30,and 45 second intervals. Pellets or slugs are OK for the Iguana targets (no slugs in Extreme Field Target)

Iguana Targets will be placed specifically at 15yds, 25yds, and 50yds only.  You are allowed to shoot sitting, standing or prone when at 50 yds.

Iguana SPEED Challenge:  Day  2, Saturday, December 5th 2026

NO BENCH SPEED CHALLENGE!

Iguana Solutions is also excited to offer a fun head-to-head speed challenge this year!

There will be 3 qualifying courses shot by all speed shooters, and then the top 16 will move on to a head-to-head bracket-style speed final.

Courses will mainly be gong-style targets with a final 'stop plate' iguana that will fall with the final shot, at distances of 15-50yds.  Shot from sticks of course, this is the Iguana Sniper Challenge, no benches allowed!!!! You may shoot this standing or sitting using sticks, or offhand if you're feeling confident!

NEW NEW NEW: Iguana Sniper Challenge Coin!

I am very proud to bring this quality challenge coin to the event. It will be earned based on eye shots. I am not sure of the exact qualifications yet to earn the coin, but something like "33% of your iguanas have an eye shot" or some sort of requirement like that.  Meaning any shooter could earn the coin but not win the match.  There may be 2 opportunities to earn the coin, but every shooter can only take 1 coin since they are limited.

Prizes, engraved trophies, and fun are planned, with a new Challenge Coin to earn too!

EYE PROTECTION REQUIRED no hearing protection needed

Aluminum engraved Trophies and cash prizes will be presented to 1st,2nd, and 3rd place winners in each match.

Sponsored by Brocock and Airguns of Arizona, more to come!

Day 1: Friday, December 4th, 2026

Kids encouraged to participate!

register: $75

Air Rifles ONLY. You may have seen old info about firearms from 2024.

This is a practical iguana shoot. It is meant to simulate an actual iguana hunt.

Targets are paper, with areas to shoot, and areas not to shoot. Exclusion areas lead to 0 score for that single shot. Some shooting will have limited time because iguanas run. Some targets are a Hit or miss to get the score, some are on a 10 scale target. Most targets feature a circle around the iguana's head, on the head and in the circle is a hit. In the circle, but off the iguana is a miss, you didn't hit the iguana.

No benches. We DO ALLOW backless chairs/stools/buckets. Shooting sticks allowed with setup after call to fire.

Standing supported allowed.

Prone only at 50yds (usually 2 targets)

Match 3: Iguana Speed Challenge 12:30-5pm

Day 2: Saturday, December 5th 2026

Registration: $35

Everyone who signs up will shoot 3 rounds of speed targets to determine the top 16 shooters to move on to the speed finals bracket. Head-to-head speed courses will be shot until a winner is determined. Targets will be between 15yds and 50yds for speed. Targets are planned to be metal gong type targets, this may change with Jessica's wacky ideas.
